Tish Weinstock, Beauty Director, wed Tom Guinness, Fashion Stylist, at the iconic stately home Belvoir Castle over the Halloween weekend '22. The three day celebration, aspiring to the autumnal season, set the tone for a gothic wedding. Within the quintessentially British countryside, washed in a hue of red, the castle entrance was dressed with distinctive sculptures by My Beautiful City’s collaboration with Joe Rush, a British artist famous for his work with Glastonbury festival.
The interior was staged with florals in partnership with Star Flower depicting the still life of a Botticelli painting, with a gothic twist. Threaded lilies hung from candelabras along the aisles for a dark romantic look, made more ethereal by the gospel choir Collabo Music; their soulful vocals filling the high ceilings of the chapel in amongst the lavish detail of its historical features.
The wedding supper took place in the Regents Gallery, a classical interior enhanced by theatrical table decor. Bespoke dripped wax candles stood towering on the top table, and the Wedding Cake, with its distorted tiers brought a whimsical and eccentric touch to the space.
An arch made of animal bones framed the castle door above a red neon sign, ‘Tom and Tish’, amongst other ‘haunted’ sculptures, such as a giant skull and car as if from the movie set of Mad Max, parked outside the castle for Tom and Tish’s escape.
Transformed into a “weird gothic dungeon”, the Old Kitchen housed the afterparty, opening its doors to guests following the unique firework display to the couple’s chosen song ‘Let Me Roll It’ by Paul McCartney. It was, “a really magical party” - Tish Weinstock.
